If it is your to-go exchange, you might have bought some coins or tokens there that you need to send to MetaMask. This guide will teach you how to send your crypto from Gate.io to MetaMask in 5 easy steps.
To demonstrate this on something, we’ll send AVAX from Gate.io to MetaMask, but the process will be more or less the same for every coin.
Also, since your whole MetaMask account shares one wallet address, you don’t need to worry about sending your coins to a wrong address.
If you don’t see the coin you have sent to MetaMask, you can always import it as a custom token, and the balance will be there.
Send Coins from Gate.io to MetaMask
1. Get the MetaMask deposit Address
First, to transfer from Gate.io to MetaMask, unlock your MetaMask wallet and copy the address on top, located under your account name.
All your assets on Metamask share the same address. No need to stress about changing to the correct network just now. Just go ahead and copy it. For instance, we are looking to withdraw AVAX from Gate.io but copying the address with Smart Chain selected; it doesn’t matter.
Previously, there was a “Receive” button under each token. This could have made the impression that every token has different addresses. Now you can’t even find another address in MetaMask than the one located on the top.
2. Go to your Wallet on Gate.io and select “Withdraw”
After copying your deposit address, go to Gate.io and visit your account wallet. Now locate and click the “Withdraw” button. The location will differ depending on whether you use the website or mobile app. On the website, the button is located in the top bar. In the mobile app, the button should be somewhere on the upper side of the screen.
3. Seach for the Coin you Wish to Withdraw
The withdrawal process consists of three separate windows. In the first window, you must select which coin you want to withdraw from your Gate.io wallet. If you want to withdraw Avalanche as us, search for AVAX.
4. Select Network
Now, select the network on which you are withdrawing. MetaMask is an Ethereum-based wallet that supports other networks made on the same principles, such as Binance Smart Chain or AVAX-C Chain.
Make sure to select the right network. Otherwise, your funds might be lost. If you are unsure what network to select, try adding your token to MetaMask first. In the process of adding custom tokens, you’ll have to add a custom network too. And that’s the network you want to be withdrawing on.
5. Paste the MetaMask Address to Gate.io and Confirm the Withdrawal
Paste your copied address to Gate.io and select the coin amount you wish to withdraw.
Gate.io will automatically calculate the gas fee amount, so you know how much will arrive in your MetaMask wallet immediately.
To finalize the transaction, tap “Next” and confirm the withdrawal. Your funds should arrive in your MetaMask shortly after, depending on the network chosen. For instance, the Avalanche blockchain process 4,500 transactions per second, so it’s just a matter of seconds.
Gate.io is an exchange that supports many smaller coins with wide usage in DeFi applications. That’s why you might be looking for a way to transfer coins over to MetaMask from Gate.io. Although you can connect those two applications together using the “Manually connect to current site” button, you must manually process any withdrawals.
To withdrawal process is pretty straightforward. Start by copying your MetaMask wallet address. Then visit the withdrawal page on Gate.io, select the coin you wish to withdraw and the correct network. Paste your address and confirm the transaction. And you are all set; your funds will arrive shortly after.
