Are you looking for a way to change your email address on Binance?
Maybe you signed up for Binance a while ago with your childhood email address that you no longer like.
However, changing your email address on Binance can be pretty complex.
This guide will teach you how to change your email on Binance.
How to change your email address on Binance
First, it is worth mentioning that you cannot change your email in the Binance mobile app. That’s because the Binance app does not have this option in the settings.
Your best bet is to change your email from your computer. Alternatively, if you can’t use a computer, you can change your email from your mobile phone using the Binance website instead of the app.
1. Log in to Binance
If you are not yet registered on Binance, you can start by using this link or “BQQK8CQW” as the referral code.
Both the link and the referral code will grant you a sweet 5% cashback on paid transaction fees.
First, head to the Binance website. Either type in the URL or search for “Binance” on google. Alternatively, you can get there by using this link: https://www.binance.com.
Now log in to your Binance account. You can do that by entering your email or mobile number with your password. Alternatively, if you have Binance mobile app, you can scan the QR code to log in automatically.
Make sure to enter the correct details in any way you choose so you don’t lock your account.
2. Navigate to Security options
To find the email address setting in Binance, head to “Security.”
As you log into your account, you will land on the homepage. Now in the top right corner, you’ll see a little profile icon. Tap on that.
A small navigation menu with various settings, such as “Identification,” “Coupons Center,” and last but not least, the “Security” setting we are looking for.
In the “Identification” setting, you can check the status of your identity verification.
The “Coupons Center” is exciting. You can find and use all money coupons you get by answering quizzes, like the currently active BurgerCities Quiz or from weekly activity – Binance WODL.
But you want to click on “Security” to go to the security page.
3. Click on “Change” beside your Email Address
On the security page, you will see various settings regarding your account. Here you can change your Google authenticator, change your phone number, or email address.
And since you want to change your email address, click “change” beside it.
4. Confirm the warning and enter your new email address
After you choose to change your email address on Binance, you will get a notice. Changing your email or security settings will disable your account for 24 hours.
I.e., any changes to the security page – including changing your phone number, or disabling Google Authentication, will disable your account for 24 hours.
Confirming this notification will take you to the “Change Email” page.
Now enter the details of your new email address in the first box, and confirm it in the box below.
5. Complete the security verification
Before submitting your email changes, you’ll have to complete security verification. Click on “get code” next to both the email verification and phone number verification.
Shortly after, a 6-digit verification code should arrive at your old email address and phone number.
Check your spam folder if the Binance email verification code is not sending. It might have landed there.
If despite this, the email with the code did not get through, you can always contact Binance support or follow the steps below, which will tell you how to change your email even without access.
Enter both of these codes and press the “Submit” button.
After submitting your changes, you can log in to your Binance account using your new email. But what if you lost access to email?
How to change your Binance email if you lost access to it
We changed our email address in the steps above while logging in to Binance. But what if you have lost access to email? Thus you can’t log in to Binance because it requires a 6-digit verification code from your email.
Let’s take a look!
1. Head to the Binance log-in page
If you have lost access to your email address, head to the log-in page. Either type in the URL or search for “Binance” on google. Alternatively, you can get there by using this link: https://www.binance.com.
Enter your email address as you usually would, and tap “next.” On the next page, enter your password until you get to the Two-factor authentication page.
2. Click on “Security verification unavailable”
When logging in to your Binance account, you must complete a 2FA (Two-factor authentication). You already know this security measure from almost all online platforms.
However, if you don’t have access to your email inbox, you won’t be able to complete the 2FA.
Fortunately, they have thought of that too, which is why a “Security verification unavailable” option exists. Tap on that.
3. Select the Email address to reset it
A “Reset Security Verification” page will open up in a new window. This page allows you to reset your phone number or email address if you lose access.
To change your email address, select the second option. Then click on “Confirm reset” to confirm the reset.
4. Submit the SMS Authentication code and enter the new email address
After you’ve clicked on “Confirm reset,” you’ll need to confirm your phone number. Tap on “Send Code” and enter the 6-digit code that will come in shortly to your mobile device.
After entering the verification code, a new window will pop up with the option to enter a unique email address.
And you are all set!
How do you access Binance if you have lost your email and phone numbers?
As we have shown you, you are required to enter the verification code from your other available 2FA device. But what to do if you have lost access to both of them – to your email inbox and phone number?
You will need to open a support ticket to get to your Binance account without email and phone number. You can talk to support even when logged out. Explain the situation to them. And they will probably ask you for verification via your ID or another government-issued document.
We have covered how to communicate with Binance support in an article that deals with changing personal information on Binance.
Conclusion
Changing your Binance email address requires you to complete security verification from the other available 2FA device. In addition to that, your account will be disabled for 24 hours.
To summarize, you can change your Binance email in the security settings. However, you will need to confirm your email address. If you have lost access to it, you will need to choose the “Security verification unavailable” option and continue with the steps on the screen.
