If you own some KuCoin Token, you might be looking for a way to use it in its native network – KCC, and add it to MetaMask.
KuCoin Community Chain (KCC) was built by the fans of the KuCoin token (KCS) and the exchange. KuCoin exchange is especially popular for the possibility of trading quite large quantities of crypto without the need to complete the KYC verification.
KCC was designed to create a chain that offers high performance and compatibility. Providing community users with a faster, more convenient, and low-cost experience.
Since KCC is fully compatible with Ethereum and ERC-20 smart contract, it can be easily added to the MetaMask wallet.
And this guide will teach you how to add KCC to MetaMask using both browser extension and mobile application. Let’s dive in!
How to Add KCC to MetaMask Browser Extension
First, we’ll be adding KCC to the browser extension, which is definitely the easier and more convenient way. To add it, you’ll need to unlock your wallet, click the button to add a new network, and fill in the details, which we’ll provide.
Here is how to do it!
1. Install MetaMask & Create an Account
First thing first, when adding the KCC network to MetaMask, you need your version of Metamask installed.
Go to MetaMask’s official website and head to the “download” menu. Once there, select your browser and download the extension from the extension store.
Once you install your wallet, you need to create an account. To do that, follow the instructions visible on the screen. If you need more help with the creation of your wallet, you can visit our thorough guide here.
2. Click “Add Network”
Now it’s time to add the KuCoin community chain to MetaMask. KCC chain doesn’t come prepacked with your wallet. Thus, we need to do it manually. To do so, open your Metamask extension, click on the currently selected network, Ethereum by default, and tap “Add network.”
3. Fill in KCC Network Details to Add it
A new window will pop-up asking for the network details. When adding any network to MetaMask, you’ll need to provide similarly-looking details. These can usually be found on the official website of the network.
Fill in:
- Network Name: KCC-MAINNET
- New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.kcc.network
- ChainID: 321
- Currency Symbol: KCS
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.kcc.io/en
We must say that finding network details for KCC was a little more complicated, but you can find them here.
After hitting Save KCC Chain will be imported to your MetaMask wallet and automatically selected as the active network.
How to Add KCC to MetaMask using the Mobile App
The details you will be filling out stay the same, but it is harder to find the option to add a new network.
First, you must install the mobile application; the process is pretty self-explanatory. But you’ll need to import your already existing wallet using your seed phrase. You can find a guide for that here.
1. Open the Menu and tap on “Settings”
Once your wallet is ready, you need to tap the little hamburger icon in the top left corner to open the menu.
2. Scroll Down to “Networks” and Tap “Add New”
Now you’ll see different groups of settings. Scroll down a bit until you see “Networks” with the description “Add and edit custom RPC networks.” Tap on that.
Now you’ll see all the available networks that were imported to your wallet and the option to add a new network.
Tap on “Add Network”
3. Add the KCC Network
You’ll now need to fill in the KCC network details. To avoid any typos, we recommend copying and pasting the details instead of manually filling them in.
KCC Network Details:
- Network Name: KCC-MAINNET
- New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.kcc.network
- ChainID: 321
- Currency Symbol: KCS
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.kcc.io/en
After you have filled in all the details, tap on Save, and the KCC network will automatically appear between your available MetaMask networks.
Conclusion
Adding KCC to Metamask is nothing complicated.
All you need is to have 2 minutes of time. Just find the button to add a new network and fill in all the required details. Then you can always switch between KCC and other networks.
Now you will be able to send and receive KCS on the KuCoin Community Chain (KCC).
