The Crypto.com passcode is used to lock and secure your Crypto.com mobile app. And sometimes, all of us forget a password. After all, it can be challenging to remember all your account and website passwords.
Fortunately, it is relatively easy to reset your crypto.com passcode if you forgot it.
Depending on a few conditions, the process of resetting your crypto.com passcode will differentiate, as there are two versions of this process. We’ll cover both versions of the reset process and talk a bit about the passcode error, that you could sometimes get, even though you enter the correct pin. Let’s dive in!
How to reset the passcode for Crypto.com App
As was already said in the introduction, this process has two variations. You can either reset your passcode yourself right away, or you have to cooperate with the support team and verify your identity. Which process you will be required to go through depends on the current balance of your account.
Reset Crypto.com Passcode with Less than $1000 in Balance
If you have less than $1000 in combined balance on your account and forgot your crypto.com passcode, you can reset it yourself just by entering a few details about yourself.
Start by tapping the “Forgot passcode?” button above your keyboard. This will take you to a new page, where you must enter a mobile verification code sent to your number and date of birth.
Once you fill in this page, you’ll get an email with a link to reset your passcode. Once you open it, you can set a new passcode for your crypto.com application.
If you don’t have access to your email or phone number, you must contact the support team, similarly as we’ll do in the second variation of the reset process.
Reset Crypto.com Passcode with a Combined Balance of More than $1000
For security reasons, if your account has more than $1000 across all cryptocurrencies and FIAT currencies, you’ll be required to go through a verification process with a support team member. After you select the “Forgot passcode?” button, you’ll get a message prompting you to contact support.
You can contact the crypto.com support team through the chat function on their website. Don’t forget to include your email within the request.
Once you request the reset, the support member will contact you via your email with further steps.
In both cases, if you know you have forgotten the passcode, reset it right away since the app will be locked for 4 hours after three failed attempts.
Crypto.com Passcode is not Working, or the App is Locked
No application works error-free at all times. If you know you are entering the correct pin, but the app won’t let you in, there is probably a passcode error on the crypto.com side. But the crypto.com team is probably already working on a fix.
In a case like this, it’s better to wait a few minutes before contacting support. You can also check Crypto.com Status Page.
Also, if you enter the wrong passcode three times, your app will be locked for 4 hours. Unfortunately, even the support team can’t do anything about that.
And not only that. If the exchange sees suspicious activity on your account – for instance, three wrong attempts for two days in a row, they could place a hold on your money.
Conclusion
If you have forgotten the crypto.com passcode, you can reset it yourself or in cooperation with a support member. That depends on the current balance of your account, whether it is higher or lower than $1000.
In one case or another, the passcode can be reset relatively easily. That’s why we recommend resetting it as soon as you find out you forgot it. Also, you can lock your app for 4 hours if you enter the wrong passcode three times.
