Axie Infinity experienced astronomical growth in recent months, and many resorts to this game to earn some extra income on the side.
Breeding and then selling your Axies is one of the most profitable methods right now. And a lot of players know that, that’s also why there are over half a million Axies on sale on the marketplace at any given moment.
If you want your Axies to join others at the marketplace, you came to the right place. This guide will provide a step-by-step guide on how to sell your Axies using both marketplace modes. Let’s get started!
How to Sell Axies
We suppose that you have your Ronin wallet ready, so we won’t delve into that. Log in to it, and we’ll need that in just a second.
Now, visit the Axie Infinity marketplace and log in using the button in the bottom left corner. It will connect your wallet so you can access your profile tab. From your profile, go to inventory.
The inventory menu contains all Axies that you own. From there, you can proceed to sell them.
Click on the Axie you wish to sell. On Axie’s profile page, you can see all the information, including its body parts and individual stats. You’ll use that details later to price your Axies right so they sell.
But now, select the “sell” option at the top.
You have the option to either set a fixed price or put your Axie to an auction. Once you select the appropriate market mode and set your price, all it’s left is to confirm the transaction in your wallet.
Once someone buys it, your wallet will be automatically filled. Now, let’s take a look at how to set your price.
Now, let’s take a look at the difference between fixed price and auction setting, and then we’ll look at how to price your Axies correctly.
Fixed Price vs. Auction
For fixed-price sales, you have to set a price for what your Axie will be listed for sale on the marketplace. However, it’s important to remember that a 4.25% fee will be subtracted from the sale price.
For instance, if you were to sell your Axie for 1 ETH, you’ll only get 0.9575 ETH in your In-game wallet. Which will be even lower at the time of withdrawal because of gas fees. But you can minimize the impact of fees by directly withdrawing to a supported exchange. To find out more, check out our step-by-step guide on cashing out SLP & AXS from Axie Infinity.
When it comes to auctions, it’s important to note that an auction on the Axie Infinity marketplace is not a true auction. When you choose to sell your Axie in an auction, the price will either drop or increase over time up or down to the value you set.
Let’s take a look at the three different values you have to set, which will make it clearer for you.
The start price is the price at which your auction will start. Thus at the start of your auction, that’s the price at which anyone can purchase your Axie.
Duration in days is for how long the auction will run. And the end price is the at which your sale will end.
For instance, if you set the duration to 7 days, a start price of 1 ETH, and an end price of 0.7 ETH, the price will gradually decrease until it’s 0.7 ETH on the final day.
On the final day, your listing will stay online as a standard fixed-price listing. Also, the same 4.25% fee will be subtracted even from an auction listing.
We would recommend using the auction mode for more expensive listings and letting the price decrease over time if you don’t have much time and want to be sure that your Axie will sell. Having the price increase over time doesn’t make much sense, in our opinion.
How to Cancel your Listing
Once you have listed your Axie for sale, you are able to cancel the listing as long as no one bought it. You can also edit the price this way if it’s too high or it’s taking too long to sell.
To do so, go to the Axie you have listed, and you’ll see a big “cancel selling” button, tap that. You’ll have to confirm the transaction in your wallet. The transaction, in this case, is confirming the return of the Axie to your wallet.
How to Price your Axies
Setting a fair price is the most important thing when it comes to selling your Axies. Otherwise, your Axie will take ages to sell, or you can leave a lot of money on the table.
Fortunately, there is a simple tool you can use to do complex market research in just a few clicks.
This tool we’re about to present can help you compare your Axie with Axies at the marketplace with similar cards and stat sets.
To use it, visit the axie.tech website. It contains a lot of handy tools, including “Axie Inspector.” Paste your Axie ID in the empty field and tap “search.”
Apart from a better overview of your Axie stats, the right sidebar is what’s important now.
Here, you can see what the last price a similar Axie was sold for was, a price estimate, and search through similar listings.
You shouldn’t base your decision solely on this tool. It only estimates the price based on market data. If there weren’t many similar listings, it could highly overestimate or underestimate the value.
Always take at least a quick look at the market manually for similar listings. However, this tool can save you a lot of time pricing your Axies.
Tip: If you are not sure about the selling price, set your Axie to an auction, that will start somewhere high and end on the average market value of similar Axies. Your Axie will sell once the price is low enough.
Conclusion
Selling your Axies doesn’t have to be rocket science. The hardest part of all of this is to set the right price. But with more experience, you’ll become confident even at that.
