Many of you surely know about WazirX. WazirX is India’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange. Its daily trading volume is averaging over one million US dollars, which is noticeable.
As with many other exchanges, even WazirX comes with its own native token, originally named WazirX (WRX).
WRX token is built on the Binance blockchain with a total supply of 1 Billion tokens. The holders receive a number of benefits, ranging from trading fee discounts to regular airdrops.
You may now ask whether it is even possible to add a WazirX token to MetaMask. And yes, it is! Indeed, the token is built on the Binance chain, but the BEP and ETH networks have many in common, so you can easily import BEP tokens to MetaMask.
TL;DR |

Although the WazirX (WRX) token is built on the BNB network, you can still import it to an Ethereum wallet like MetaMask. |
Add BNB Chain as a custom network. |
Select Import tokens and insert the WRX contract address. |
Now, without further ado, let’s go into this very quick tutorial. We promise it will take you less than 3 minutes to add WRX to MetaMask.
How to Add WezirX (WRX) to MetaMask as a Custom Token
To add WRX to MetaMask, we must start with the hardest – adding the BNB network as a custom network.
After that, it’s all a breeze. You’ll just copy the token’s contract address and add it to MetaMask.
1. Add BEP to MetaMask as a Custom Network
Since the BNB network doesn’t come prepacked with your wallet, we need to add it manually.
With your wallet unlocked, click on the network selector in the upper part and tap “Add Network.”
Depending on the version of your wallet, a window offering automatic importation of some of the most popular networks can appear. In this case, it is possible that you will see the Binance Smart Chain among them. If so, you can tap the “add” button, and the network will be automatically added.
If that’s not your case, tap “Add a network manually” at the bottom of the page.
It will open a small window asking for network details, fill in these:
BNB Smart Chain Network Details
- Network Name: Smart Chain
- New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
- ChainID: 56
- Currency Symbol: BNB
- Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com
It’s always important to be sure about the details you are entering. These RPC details can be found in the official Binance guide here.
After you hit the Save button, you will be able to see Smart Chain as one of the MetaMask networks, however, with only BNB as the token. Let’s fix that.
2. Find the WRX Contract Address and Copy it
Now, you need to get the token’s contract address from a reputable source. We usually go with CoinMarketCap, but if you know of any other platform that lists contract addresses and that you can trust, feel free to source contracts there.
Simply visit WazirX’s page on CoinMarketCap and copy the string located in the section titled “Contracts.”
Sometimes, with tokens deployed on multiple networks, the correct network you are looking for is hidden under “More.” WRX seems to be one of them.
Also, make sure you’re copying the correct contract. WRX is available on both Binance Smart Chain and Binance Beacon Chain, and they are very different. In this case, you are looking for BEP-20.
To spare some time, here’s the contract address: 0x8e17ed70334c87ece574c9d537bc153d8609e2a3
3. With Smart Chain Selected, tap “Import Tokens”
First and foremost, make sure you have the correct network selected – in this case, the newly imported one.
Then, near the very bottom, tap on the button that says “Import Tokens.”
4. Send, Receive and Store WRX
The last step is to paste the contract address into the designated field after you tap “Import tokens.”
If you have the correct contract, all other fields will automatically fill, and you can confirm the importation. Then, WazirX will show as one of your tokens under the Smart Chain.
And you are all set. Now you can send, receive, and store WRX safely in a non-custodial wallet.
